Aurélie Dubois, who graduated in 2002 from Ensba (Paris Beaux- Arts
School) with the jury’s congratulations, built her reputation on the
undeniable quality of her Indian ink drawings of herself and which
represent erotic scenes. She knows how to freely act out fantasies and
astutely exploits subjects of desire, excitation and even, something
quite unique, wear and redundancy. The provocative appearance of
her work, produced with a well trained stroke and a moderate tension,
is tinged with a little girl’s universe of fairy tales which makes the sexual
impulses less crude but just as straightforward. |
